செத்த எலி ஒன்றைக் கவ்விக்கொண்டு ஒரு பறவை பறந்து சென்றது. அதனிடமிருந்து எலியைப் பறிக்க எண்ணி இருபது முப்பது பறவைகள் விரட்டிக்கொண்டே பின்னால் பறந்தன.

அதைப் பார்த்ததும் பறவை மிகவும் வருத்தமடைந்தது.

"ஏன் இப்படி நடக்கிறது? நான் மற்ற பறவைகளுக்கு எந்த இடையூறும் செய்ய வில்லையே! எனக்குக் கிடைத்த செத்த எலியைத் தூக்கிச் செல்கிறேன். என்னை ஏன் இந்தப் பறவைகள் விரட்டிக்கொண்டு வருகின்றன?"

எல்லாப் பறவைகளும் சேர்ந்துகொண்டு அதைக் கொத்தின. அப்போது நடந்த சண்டையில் அதன் வாயிலிருந்த எலி கீழே விழுந்துவிட்டது. உடனே மற்ற பறவைகள் அந்த எலியை நோக்கி பாய்ந்து சென்றன. அதைக் கவ்விக்கொண்டு சென்ற பறவையை உதாசீனப்படுத்திவிட்டன.

அதன் பிறகு அந்தப் பறவை ஒரு மரக்கிளையில் அமர்ந்து யோசனையில் ஆழ்ந்தது.

மற்ற பறவைகள் எல்லாம் அதற்கு எதிராகச் செயல்பட வில்லை. எல்லாமும் ஒரே குறிக்கோளுடன் பயணம் செய்தன. எலியை வசப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதே அவற்றின் விருப்பமாகும்.

ஜனங்கள் உங்களை துன்புறுத்தினால் வாயைத் திறங்கள். செத்த எலியை நீங்கள் கவ்விக்கொண்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். அதைக் கீழே போட்டு விடுங்கள்.

அதன் பிறகு முடிந்தால் ஒரு மரத்தடியில் உட்கார்ந்து யோசித்துப் பாருங்கள். சட்டென்று எல்லோரும் உங்களை மறந்து விட்டதைக் காண்பீர்கள்.

அவர்களுக்கு உங்கள் மீது அக்கறையில்லை. செத்த எலியைக் கைப்பற்றுவதில் அவர்கள் கவனம் செலுத்துகிறார்கள்.

 A bird flew away, grabbing a dead rat.  Twenty or thirty birds chased after it, trying to snatch the rat from it.

 The bird was very upset when he saw it.

 "Why is this happening? I'm not doing any harm to the other birds! I'm going to pick up the dead rat I got. Why are these birds chasing me?"

 All the birds came together and crowed it.  In the ensuing fight the rat in its mouth fell down.  Immediately the other birds rushed towards the rat.  They have neglected the bird that caught it.

 The bird then perched on a tree branch and pondered.

 Not all other birds act against it.  Everything traveled with the same goal.  Their desire is to subdue the rat.

 Open your mouth when people are harassing you.  You are catching a dead rat.  Just put it down.

 Then sit under a tree and think if you can.  Suddenly you will find that everyone has forgotten you.

 They don’t care about you.  They focus on capturing dead rats.
