  போதிதர்மரிடம் சீனப்பேரரசர் வூ, “என் மனது எண்ணங்களால் நிரம்பி வழிகிறது. நான் எனது மனதை அமைதிபடுத்த முயன்று வருகிறேன், ஆனால் நான் தோற்றுவிடுகிறேன்.

இந்த எண்ணங்களாலும் அதன் சத்தத்தின் காரணமாகவும் நீங்கள் உள்குரல் என்று கூறும் விஷயத்தை என்னால் கேட்க முடியவில்லை.

எனக்கு அதைப்பற்றி எதுவும் தெரியாது. “ என்று கூறினார்.

போதிதர்மர், “அப்படியென்றால் நாளை அதிகாலை 4 மணிக்கு நான் மலையில் தங்கப்போகும் இடத்திற்க்கு எந்த மெய்க்காப்பாளனும் இல்லாமல் தனியாக வா.

அங்கு நான் உனது மனதை எப்போதும் அமைதியோடு இருப்பதாக ஆக்கிவிடுகிறேன்“ என்று கூறினார்.

பேரரசர் இந்த மனிதர் உண்மையிலேயே வரம்புமீறிய மூர்க்கத்தனமானவர் என்று எண்ணினார். அவர் ஏராளமான பிட்சுக்களை சந்தித்திருக்கிறார். அவர்கள் மிகவும் பரிவு காட்டுபவர்கள். ஆனால் இவரோ ஒரு பெரிய தேசத்தின் பேரரசர் என்று கூட கவலைப்படவில்லை.

 மேலும் அதிகாலை இருட்டில் 4 மணிக்கு அவரிடம் செல்வது என்பது…………… மேலும் இந்த மனிதன் ஆபத்தானவனாக தோன்றுகிறான்.

போதிதருமர் எப்போதும் தன்னுடன் ஒரு கைத்தடியை வைத்திருப்பார்.

 பேரரசர் முழு இரவும் தூங்கவில்லை. “போவதா? வேண்டாமா?

இந்த மனிதன் என்ன வேன்டுமானாலும் செய்யக்கூடும், அவர் நம்பமுடியாத மனிதராக தோன்றுகிறார்” மற்றும் இன்னொரு பக்கம் அவரது இதயத்தின் ஆழத்தில் அவர் போதிதருமருடைய நேர்மையை உணர்ந்தார்.

அவர் நடிப்பவரல்ல, அவர் நீ ஒரு அரசர், தான் ஒரு புத்தபிட்சு என்பதைப்பற்றி ஒரு துளிகூட கவலைப்படவில்லை.

அவர் தான் ஒரு பேரரசர் போலவும் அவருக்கு முன்பு நீ ஒரு பிச்சைக்காரன் என்பது போலவும் நடந்து கொள்கிறார்.

 நான் உனது மனதை எப்போதும் அமைதியாகஇருக்கும்படி செய்துவிடுகிறேன் என்று சொன்ன விதமும்……பேரரசருக்கு புதிராயிருக்கிறது, ஏனெனில் “இந்தியாவிலிருந்து வரும் ஞானவான்களை கேட்டு வருகிறேன்.

 அவர்கள் அனைவரும் எனக்கு யுக்திகளையும் வழிமுறைகளையும் அளித்தனர், அவற்றை நான் பயிற்சி செய்துவருகிறேன், ஆனால் எதுவும் நடைபெறவில்லை.

ஆனால் இந்த புதிய மனிதன் கிட்டத்தட்ட ஒரு கிறுக்கனைப்போல, மது அருந்தியவனைப்போல, அவ்வளவு பெரிய கண்களையுடைய, பயத்தை உருவாக்கக்கூடிய ஒரு வித்தியாசமான முகத்தைக் கொண்டவராக இருக்கிறார்.

 ஆனால் அவர் நேர்மையானவராகவும்தோன்றுகிறார். அவர் ஒரு காட்டுத்தனமான மனிதன். ஆனால் இந்த அபாயம் தகுதியுடையதே.! அவர் என்ன செய்யக்கூடும், அதிகபட்சம் அவர் என்னைக் கொல்ல முடியும்” என்று எண்ணினார்.

 முடிவில் அவரால் ஆர்வத்தை அடக்க முடியவில்லை. ஏனெனில் ‘அந்த மனிதன் நான் உனது மனதை எப்போதும் அமைதியாக இருக்கும்படி செய்துவிடுகிறேன்’ என்று வாக்களித்துள்ளார்.

பேரரசர் வூ அதிகாலை 4 மணிக்கு தனியாக இருளில் அவரது இடத்தைச் சென்றடைந்தார். அந்த கோவில் படிகளில் போதிதர்மர் அவருடைய தடியுடன் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார், அவர், “இரவு முழுவதும் போவதா வேண்டாமா என்று குழம்பினாலும் நீ வருவாய் என எனக்குத் தெரியும் என்றார்!

 ஒரு ஏழை பிட்சுவைப் பார்த்து, ஒரு ஏழை பிச்சைக்காரனைப்பார்த்து, இந்த உலகத்தில் ஒரு தடியைத் தவிர ஏதும் இல்லாதவனைப் பார்த்து இவ்வளவு பயப்படும் நீ எப்படிப்பட்ட பேரரசன் ?

 நான் இந்த தடியை வைத்து உனது மனதை அமைதியாக்கப் போகிறேன். “ என்று கூறினார்.

பேரரசர், “கடவுளே ஒரு தடியை வைத்து மனதை அமைதிபடுத்துவதை யாராவது எப்போதாவது கேள்விபட்டதுண்டா?

 அவனை முடித்துவிடலாம், தலையில் ஓங்கி அடிக்கலாம், பிறகு முழு மனிதனும் அமைதியாகிவிடுவான். ஆனால் மனம் அமைதி அடையாதே. ஆனால் இப்போது திரும்பி போவது என்பது முடியாத காரியம்” என எண்ணினார்.போதிதர்மர்,

 “இங்கே கோவில் வராண்டாவில் உட்கார், சுற்றிலும் ஒரு மனிதன் கூட இல்லை, கண்களை மூடிக்கொள், உனக்கு முன்னால் நான் எனது தடியுடன் உட்கார்ந்து கொள்கிறேன்.

மனதை பிடிப்பதே உனது வேலை. வெறுமனே உனது கண்களை மூடிக்கொண்டு உள்ளே சென்று அது எங்கே இருக்கிறதென்று தேடு. நீ அதனை பிடிக்கிற நொடியில் வெறுமனே எனக்கு அது இங்கே இருக்கிறதென்று கூறு, மற்றதைஎனது தடி பார்த்துக்கொள்ளும்” 

என்று கூறினார்.

உண்மையை, அமைதியை, மௌனத்தை தேடும் தேடுதலையுடையவன் அடையக்கூடிய, அடைந்த அனுபவங்களிலேயே மிகவும் வித்தியாசமான அனுபவம் அது. பேரரசர் வூக்கு இப்போது வேறு வழியில்லை. கண்களை மூடி அங்கே அமர்ந்தார். போதிதர்மர் சொல்வதை செய்யக்கூடியவர் என்பதை பேரரசர் நன்றாக உணர்ந்தார்.

அவர் தன்னுள்ளே எல்லாபக்கமும் தேடினார், அங்கு மனமில்லை. அந்த தடி அதன் வேலையை செய்துவிட்டது.முதன்முறையாக அவர் அப்படி ஒரு சூழலில் இருந்தார். செய்தாகவேண்டும்…… நீ மனதை ஒருவேளை கண்டுபிடித்தால், இந்த மனிதன் அவருடைய தடியை வைத்து என்ன செய்யப்போகிறார் என்று உனக்குத் தெரியாது.

மேலும் அந்த மௌனமான மலைப்பகுதியில், போதிதர்மருடைய இருப்பில்…. அவருக்கெனஒரு சக்தி வட்டமிருந்தது…….பல ஞானமடைந்த மக்கள் இருந்திருக்கிறார்கள், ஆனால் போதிதர்மர் தனியாக எதிலும் ஒட்டாமல் எவரெஸ்ட் சிகரம் போல தனித்து நிற்கிறார்.

அவருடைய ஒவ்வொரு செயலும் தனித்துவமானது மற்றும் ஆணித்தரமானது. அவருடைய ஒவ்வொரு அசைவும் அவருடைய சொந்த கையெழுத்தைக் கொண்டது, அது கடன் வாங்கப்பட்டதல்ல.பேரரசர் மனதை கடுமையாகத் தேடினார், ஆனால் முதன்முறையாகஅவரால் அதை கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை.

அது ஒரு சிறிய தந்திரம். நீ ஒருபோதும் உன் மனதை தேடாததால் மட்டுமே அது அங்கே இருக்கிறது. நீ ஒருபோதும் அதைப்பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வோடு இருப்பதில்லை என்பதாலேயே அது அங்கே இருக்கிறது. நீ அதைத் தேடும்போது, நீ அதைப்பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வோடு இருக்கும்போது விழிப்புணர்வு நிச்சயமாக அதனை முழுமையாக கொன்று விடுகிறது.

மணிநேரங்கள் கடந்துவிட்டன. சூரியன் மௌனமாக மலைகளின் மீது, ஒரு குளிர்ந்த தென்றலுடன் உதயமாகிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறான்.

 போதிதர்மரால் பேரரசர் வூ வின் முகத்தில் அப்படி ஒரு அமைதியையும், அப்படியொரு மௌனத்தையும், அப்படியொரு அசைவற்ற தன்மையையும் அவர் ஒருசிலையைப் போல இருப்பதையும் பார்க்க முடிந்தது.

 போதிதர்மர் வூ வை உலுக்கி, நிறைய நேரமாகிவிட்டது. நீ மனதை கண்டுபிடித்துவிட்டாயா?” என்று கேட்டார்.பேரரசர் வூ, “உங்களது தடியை உபயோகிக்காமலேயே நீங்கள் எனது மனதை முழுமையாக அமைதிபடுத்திவிட்டீர்கள். எனக்குஎந்த மனமுமில்லை, நீங்கள் கூறிய உள் குரலை நான் கேட்டேன். இப்போது நீங்கள் கூறியது சரி என்று நான் உணர்கிறேன். எதையும் செய்யாமலேயே நீங்கள் என்னை நிலை மாற்றமடையச் செய்துவிட்டீர்கள்.இப்போது எல்லா செயல்களுக்கும் அதைச் செய்வதே அதன் வெகுமதியாக இருக்கவேண்டும், இல்லாவிடில் அதனை செய்ய வேண்டியதில்லை என்றுநான் உணர்ந்து கொண்டேன்.

உனக்கு வெகுமதியளிக்க அங்கு யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்? இது ஒரு குழந்தைதனமான சிந்தனை, அங்கு தண்டனை கொடுக்க யார் இருக்கிறார்கள்? உன்னுடைய செயலே தண்டனை. உன்னுடைய செயலே வெகுமதி.

நீ சென்றடையும் இடத்தை தீர்மானிக்கும் அதிகாரம் உன்னிடமே உள்ளது என்பதை நான் அறிவேன் இப்போது.” என்று கூறினார்.

போதிதர்மர், “நீ ஒரு அபூர்வமான சீடன். வெறும் ஒரு அமர்தலிலேயே மனதின் எல்லா இருட்டும் மறைந்துவிடும் அளவிற்கு விழிப்புணர்வையும் மிகுந்த ஒளியைக் கொண்டுவரும் துணிச்சலும் உள்ள மனிதனாக இருக்கிறாய். நான் உன்மீது அன்பு செலுத்துகிறேன், நான் உன்னை மதிக்கிறேன், ஆனால் ஒரு பேரரசனாக அல்ல.” என்று கூறினார்.

வூ அவரை அரண்மனைக்கு வருமாறு வற்புறுத்தினார். போதிதர்மர், “அது என்னுடைய இடமல்ல, நான் காட்டுத்தனமானவன். நான் என்ன செய்வேன் என்று எனக்கேத் தெரியாது என்பதை நீ பார்க்கலாம்.

நான் நொடிக்கு நொடி இயல்பாக வாழ்கிறேன். நான் மிகவும் கணிக்க இயலாதவன். நான் தேவையில்லாமல் உனக்கும் உனது சபைக்கும் உன்னைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களுக்கும் பிரச்னைகளை உருவாக்கலாம்.

 நான் அரண்மனைகளுக்காக ஆக்கப்பட்டவனல்ல. என்னை என்னுடைய காட்டுத்தனத்தில் வாழவிடு.” என்று கூறினார்.

   Chinese Emperor Wu told Bodhidharma, “My mind is full of thoughts.  I try to calm my mind, but I fail.

 Because of these thoughts and its noise I could not hear what you are saying inwardly.

 I know nothing about it.  " He said that.

 The Bodhisattva said, “Then come to the place where I will stay at the mountain tomorrow at 4 am alone without any bodyguard.

 There I will keep your mind always at peace. ”

 The emperor thought this man was truly outrageous.  He has encountered numerous pitches.  They are very compassionate.  But he did not even care that he was the emperor of a great nation.

  And going to him at 4am in the early morning darkness means …………… And this man seems dangerous.

 The teacher will always have a cane with him.

  The emperor did not sleep all night.  “Going?  Don't you

 This man can do anything, he seems to be an incredible man ”and on the other hand he felt the sincerity of the teacher in the depths of his heart.

 He is not an actor, he is a king, he is not even a drop of worry about being a Buddhist.

 He just behaves like an emperor and you are like a beggar before him.

  The emperor is also puzzled by the way I have said that I will keep your mind always calm, because “I have been listening to the wise men from India.

  They all gave me tricks and instructions and I practiced them, but nothing happened.

 But this new man is almost like a lunatic, an alcoholic, with such big eyes and a weird face that can create fear.

  But he also seems to be honest.  He is a savage man.  But this risk is worth it.!  Whatever he can do, at most he can kill me. ”

  In the end he could not suppress curiosity.  Because ‘that man has promised that I will keep your mind always calm’.

 Emperor Wu arrived at his place in the dark alone at 4 p.m.  The Bodhisattva was standing with his stick on the steps of the temple and he said, “I know you will come even if you are confused whether to go all night or not!

  What kind of emperor are you so afraid to look at a poor beggar, look at a poor beggar, look at someone who has nothing but a stick in this world?

  I am going to put this stick and calm your mind.  " He said that.

 The emperor said, “Has anyone ever heard of God calming the mind with a stick?

  You can finish him off, hit him in the head, and then the whole man will be quiet.  But do not attain peace of mind.  But it is impossible to go back now. ”

  “Sit here on the veranda of the temple, there is not even a man around, close your eyes, I am sitting in front of you with my stick.

 Your job is to capture the mind.  Simply close your eyes and go inside to find out where it is.  The moment you catch it, simply tell me it's here, and my rod will take care of the rest. "

 He said that.

 It is a very different experience from the one that can be achieved by the seeker of truth, peace and silence.  Emperor Wook had no choice now.  He closed his eyes and sat there.  The emperor was well aware that he could do what the Bodhisattva said.

 He searched everywhere within himself, there was no mind.  That rod has done its job.For the first time he was in such an environment.  Must do ால் If you find the mind maybe, you do not know what this man is going to do with his rod.

 And in that silent hill, in the presence of the Bodhisattva.  He had a circle of power. There have been many enlightened people, but the Bodhisattva stands alone like Mount Everest without sticking to anything.

 His every action is unique and solemn.  His every move had his own signature, it was not borrowed. The emperor searched his mind hard, but for the first time he could not find it.

 That's a little trick.  It’s only there because you’ve never searched your mind.  It’s there because you’ve never been aware of it.  When you search for it, when you are aware of it, awareness certainly kills it completely.

 Hours have passed.  The sun is silently rising over the mountains, with a cool breeze.

  Bodhisattva was able to see such a silence, such silence, such stillness on Emperor Wu's face that he looked like an idol.

  It has been a long time since Bodhisattva shook Woo.  Have you found your mind? ”  Emperor Woo said, “You have completely calmed my mind without using your rod.  I have no mind, I heard the inner voice you said.  Now I feel that what you said is right.  You have made me change my position without doing anything.

 Who is there to reward you?  This is a childish thought, who is there to punish?  Punishment for your actions.  Reward for your deeds.

 I know now that you have the power to decide where you go. ”  He said that.

 The Bodhisattva said, “You are a rare disciple.  You are a man of courage who brings awareness and great light to the point where all the darkness of the mind disappears in just one sitting.  I love you, I respect you, but not as an emperor. ”  He said that.

 Wu persuaded him to come to the palace.  The Bodhisattva said, “It is not my place, I am savage.  You can see I don't know what to do.

 I live naturally by the second.  I am very unpredictable.  I can unnecessarily create problems for you and your church and those who belong to you.

  I am not made for palaces.  Let me live in my wildness. ”  He said that.
