அவன் வீட்டில் எலித் தொல்லை மிகவும் அதிகமிருந்தது.

அதிலும் குறிப்பாக..

ஒரு முரட்டு எலி அந்த வீட்டில் இருந்த உணவுப் பொருட்களைத் திருடித் தின்றபடியே இருந்தது.

வீட்டுப் பூனையால் அந்த எலியைப் பிடிக்கவே முடியவில்லை.

அத்துடன் பூனையை அந்த எலி பாய்ந்து தாக்கிக் காயப்படுத்தியது.

ஆகவே...

சாமுராய் தனது அண்டை வீட்டில் இருந்த இரண்டு பூனைகளை அழைத்து வந்து முரட்டு எலியைப் பிடிக்க முயற்சி செய்தான்...

இரண்டு பூனைகளும் முரட்டு எலியைத் துரத்தின.

ஆனால்...

அந்த முரட்டு எலி ஆவேசத்துடன் பாய்ந்து தாக்கி அந்தப் பூனைகளையும் காயப்படுத்தியது.

முடிவில் சாமுராய் தானே அந்த எலியைக் கொல்வது என முடிவு செய்து...

ஒரு தடியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு போய்த் துரத்தினான்.

எலி அவனிடம் இருந்து தப்பி தப்பி ஒடியது.

முடிவில் குளியலறைப் பொந்துக்குள் ஒளிந்து கொண்டது.

அவன் குனிந்து அதனைத் தாக்க முயற்சித்தான்.

ஆனால்...

வேறொரு வழியாக எலி வெளியே வந்து அவன் மீதும் பாய்ந்து தாக்கியது.

அதில் அவனும் காயம் அடைந்தான்.

‘ஒரு முரட்டு எலியை நம்மால் பிடிக்க முடியவில்லையே, நாமெல்லாம் ஒரு சாமுராயா..?

என அவமானம் அடைந்தான்.

அவனது மனவேதனையை அறிந்த ஒரு நண்பர்...

"நண்பா அருகில் உள்ள மலையில் ஒரு கிழட்டு பூனை இருக்கிறது..

அந்தப் பூனையால் எந்த எலியையும் பிடித்து விட முடியும்..’’

என ஆலோசனை சொன்னார்.

சாமுராயும் வேறு வழியில்லாமல் அந்தக் கிழட்டுப் பூனையைத் தேடிப் போய் உதவி கேட்டான்.

உடனே பூனையும் சாமுராய்க்கு உதவி செய்வதாக ஒப்புக் கொண்டது.

அதன்படி மறுநாள் சாமுராய் வீட்டுக்கு அந்தக் கிழட்டு பூனை வருகை தந்தது.

பூனை இருப்பதை அறிந்த எலி..

தயங்கித் தயங்கி வெளியே வந்தது.

கிழட்டு பூனை தன் இடத்தை விட்டு நகரவேயில்லை.

எலி தைரியமாக அங்குமிங்கும் ஒடுவதும் வெண்ணெய்க் கட்டிகளைத் திருடித் தின்பதுமாகயிருந்தது..

மற்ற பூனைகளாவது எலியைத் துரத்த முயற்சியாவது செய்தன.

ஆனால்....

இந்தக் கிழட்டுப் பூனையோ இருந்த இடத்தை விட்டு அசையவே மறுக்கிறதே என சாமுராய் அதன் மீது எரிச்சல் அடைந்தான்.

ஒருநாள் முழுவதும் அந்தப் பூனை அசையமல் அப்படியே இருந்தது.

மறுநாள்....

வழக்கம் போல எலி வளையை விட்டு வெளியே வந்தது.

சமையலறையில் போய் இனிப்பு உருண்டைகளை ஆசையாக தின்று விட்டு மெதுவாக திரும்பியது.

அடுத்த நொடி திடீரென பாய்ந்த அந்த கிழட்டு பூனை ஒரே அடியில் அந்த எலியைப் பிடித்து கடித்து கொன்று போட்டது.

*சாமுராய் அதை எதிர் பார்க்கவேயில்லை.*

இவ்வளவு பெரிய முரட்டு எலியை ஒரே அடியில் எப்படி அந்தக் கிழட்டு பூனை வீழ்த்தியது என வியப்படைந்தான்.

இந்தச் செய்தியை அறிந்து கொண்ட பூனைகளெல்லாம் ஒன்றுகூடி,...

"எப்படி இந்த முரட்டுஎலியைக் கொன்றாய்?

இதில் என்ன சூட்சுமம உள்ளது....?’’

எனக் கேட்டன.

"ஒரு சூட்சுமமும் இல்லை.

*நான் பொறுமையாக காத்திருந்தேன்.*

நாம் என்ன செய்யப் போகிறோம் என்பதை அந்த எலி நன்றாக அறிந்திருந்தது.

ஆகவே..,

அது தன்னைத் தற்காத்துக் கொள்ளப் பழகியிருந்தது.

நான் நிதானமாக, பொறுமையாக காத்துக் கிடந்த போது அது என்னைச் செயலற்றவன் என நினைத்துக் கொண்டது.

ஆயுதத்தை விட பல மடங்கு வலிமையானது நிதானம்.

எதிரி நாம் செய்யப் போவதை ஊகிக்க முடிந்தால் அது நமது பலவீனம்.

*"வலிமையானவன் தனது சரியான சந்தர்ப்பத்துக்காக காத்துக்கொண்டு தான் இருப்பான்!’’* என்றது அந்த கிழட்டு பூனை.

அப்போது மற்றோரு பூனை கேட்டது,...

‘‘நான் பாய்ந்து தாக்குவதற்கு பல ஆண்டுகள் பயிற்சி எடுத்திருக்கிறேன்.

என் நகங்கள் கூட கூர்மையானவை.

ஆனாலும் என்னால் ஏன் அந்த முரட்டு எலியைக் கொல்ல முடியவில்லை!’’

*’’உன் பலத்தை போலவே எலியும் தன்னை காத்துக்கொள்ளப் பழகியிருக்கிறது..."*

எல்லா எலிகளும் பூனைகளுக்குப் பயந்தவை இல்லை. நான் ஒரு பூனை என்ற அகம்பாவம் உன்னிடம் மேலோங்கியிருக்கும்.

ஆகவே...

ஒரு எலி திரும்பி தாக்க முயற்சிக்கிறது என்றதுமே நீ பயப்படத் தொடங்கியிருப்பாய்.

ஆகவே உன்னை துரத்தி அடித்து எலி காயப்படுத்தியது.

"ஆவேசமாக கூச்சலிடுபவர்கள். கோபம் கொள்கிறவர்கள்,

அவசரக்காரர்கள் தங்களின் பலவீனத்தை உலகுக்கு வெளிச்சமிட்டு காட்டுகிறார்கள்.

பலவான் தனது பேச்சிலும்,செயலிலும், அமைதியாகவே இருப்பான்..

உலகம் அவனை பரிகசிக்கவும் கூடும்..

ஆனால்...

தகுந்த நேரத்தில் அவன் தன் திறமையை நிரூபித்து வெற்றியடைவான்!’’

என்றது கிழட்டு பூனை.

சாமுராய்களுக்கு மட்டுமில்லை சாமானியர்களுக்கும் இந்தக் கதை பொருந்தக்கூடியதே.

மற்ற பூனைகளிடம் இல்லாத ஒரு தனித் திறமையும் பூனையிடம் கிடையாது.

ஆனால்...

அது தன்பலத்தை மட்டுமே நம்பாமல் எதிரியின் பலவீனத்தையும் கணக்கில் எடுத்துக் கொண்டது.

வாய்ச் சவடால் விடுவதை விட காரியம் செய்து முடிப்பது முக்கியம் என அனுபவம் அதற்கு உணர்த்தியிருந்தது.

காத்திருப்பது முட்டாள்தனமில்லை என அந்தப் பூனை உணர்ந்திருந்தது.
