And so again, if one is serious, every form of image, every form of belief and faith must be put aside, which is a very difficult thing to do because we want comfort, because we want something to lean on in the days of our sorrow, in the days of our darkness. When things are uncertain and miserable and confused we think we must have faith in something, and specially it becomes a necessity when inwardly there is such chaos, such trouble, such agony. And so faith in something, in a god, in a saviour, in an ideal becomes almost an urgent necessity. But a mind that would go into this question of what is sacred and what is meditation must put aside the machinery that produces illusion.

[7/6, 9:01 AM] jagadeeshkrishnan: "நம்பிக்கைக்கும் நம்பிக்கைக்கும் தியானத்திலோ கற்பனையிலோ இடமில்லை, ஏனென்றால் நம்பிக்கை, நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் கற்பனை ஆகியவை மாயையை உருவாக்கலாம், அதில் மனதைப் பிடிக்க முடியும். மேலும், ஒருவர் தீவிரமாக இருந்தால், ஒவ்வொரு உருவத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு வடிவமும், ஒவ்வொரு வடிவமும்  நம்பிக்கையும் நம்பிக்கையும் ஒதுக்கி வைக்கப்பட வேண்டும், இது மிகவும் கடினமான விஷயம், ஏனென்றால் நமக்கு ஆறுதல் வேண்டும், ஏனென்றால் நம் துக்கத்தின் நாட்களில், நம் இருளின் நாட்களில் ஏதாவது சாய்ந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும், விஷயங்கள் நிச்சயமற்றதாகவும் பரிதாபமாகவும் குழப்பமாகவும் இருக்கும்போது  நாம் ஏதோவொன்றில் நம்பிக்கை வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கிறோம், குறிப்பாக உள்ளத்தில் இத்தகைய குழப்பம், இதுபோன்ற பிரச்சனைகள், இத்தகைய வேதனைகள் இருக்கும் போது அது அவசியமாகிறது.எனவே ஏதோவொன்றில், ஒரு கடவுள், ஒரு இரட்சகர், ஒரு இலட்சியத்தின் மீதான நம்பிக்கை கிட்டத்தட்ட அவசரத் தேவையாகிறது.  ஆனால், எது புனிதமானது, எது தியானம் என்ற கேள்விக்குள் செல்லும் மனம், மாயையை உருவாக்கும் இயந்திரத்தை ஒதுக்கி வைக்க வேண்டும்.
